I don't know where to start with this bag. This may seem silly to the people that read this but man this bag carries so many memories with it. It's finally starting to give out after 15 years of HARD use. I bought this bag in 2011 when I was in transit from Basic Training to AIT in the Army. I have taken this bag all around the world. It started in Georgia, USA and finally going to end it's journey in Texas. When I bought it, I used it every time I went off post in AIT. From there it went with me to my first duty station in Fort Hood. I took it on every single training/field exercise while there. It's first taste of adventure was JRTC in Louisiana. It then got a taste of the big leagues. I took it with me to Afghanistan in 2013. Every single patrol, every single convoy, every single contact, that bag was with me. Carrying all of my essentials. If a bag could see, this thing saw the world. I brought it home with me after Afghanistan. It went on to see South Korea twice, and Germany once. It's seen Japan, Ireland, the UK, Alaska, and almost every state in the US. If I were to guess the amount of miles this bag has travelled, it's easily over 1,000,000. I took it everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. Small trips stateside, any time I left my house, left my barracks, it didn't matter. It was thrown in the back seat of my car, or the beg of my truck. It's carried everything from food/water, ammunition, weapons, clothes, laptops, if a bag can carry it, this one has at least twice. When my first son was born and I was in Korea, I flew home after his birth. The bag I used to fly back and forth? This one. It has been ran over by military trucks (PLS to be specific), been thrown off moving vehicles, shot rifles off of it, thrown into massive piles of other bags. How this thing is still going, I'm unsure. But now sadly, it's going out. I like to think it's going out on its own terms. But man, this thing has carried memories. 15 years of them. I'm deeply saddened to let it go soon. I'd love to get another 3-day Pass bag, but right now, life doesn't support me buying another bag for $100+. I just wanted to share this bags story. If anyone wants a bag that can stand up to abuse like no other, please read this review. This bag is more than "military grade". This thing is the absolute gold standard. Get. This. Damn. Bag.
